Patricia Curran talk – Stephen Cameron
Venue - Parish Hall
The intriguing and unsolved murder of a 19 year-old student, Patricia Curran, on 12th November 1952 has fascinated the people of Northern Ireland ever since her body was found in the grounds of her own home near Whiteabbey. She had been stabbed 37 times. Patricia’s father was a high court judge and there were allegations of a cover up at the highest level but a young Scottish man called Iain Hay Gordon was tried and convicted of her murder. He escaped the gallows using a plea of insanity but he was subsequently cleared of Patricia’s murder in 2000 after the case against him was exposed as a tissue of lies. The real murderer has never been brought to justice.
Stephen Cameron has done extensive research into the Patricia Curran murder and drawn his own conclusions and he will present his findings in what will be a very interesting talk.
A supper will be provided at the end of Stephen’s talk.
